How does Thred work exactly?

Thred embeds in your platform to turn operational and bank data into accurate, compliant accounts. AI automates categorisation and reconciliation, bookkeepers approve entries, and financials stay continuously up to date.

What are the advantages of embedding accounting into SME platforms?

Embedding accounting turns SME platforms into full financial systems, reducing fragmentation for businesses while driving engagement, revenue, and differentiation for the platform.

How do you charge for Thred?

We charge a monthly fee per business for both the accounting software and bookkeeping services. Fees vary by business size, based on transaction volume.

How do SME platforms earn revenue from embedded accounting?

SME platforms add their own margin on top of the monthly fees we charge per business.

How long does it take to implement Thred?

Getting started with Thred is simple. We deliver a white-label accounting system with your brand, embedded in your frontend with 6 lines of code. You can start onboarding customers after this and do the backend integration whenever you are ready. This part is typically completed within 2 weeks.

We’re building financial confidence for small business owners

We founded Thred after years of lending to small businesses, where even good companies struggled to access financing simply because their accounting data was incomplete or out of date.

We realised the real problem wasn’t credit; it was accounting. The financial data small businesses rely on is scattered across tools, manually maintained, and rarely current enough to make decisions with confidence.

Thred solves this by embedding accounting directly into the platforms small businesses already use to run their businesses. It’s accounting that keeps itself up to date; accurate, connected, and always available.

Thred was founded by Mark Holleman and Manoj Tutika, repeat founders who have built complex cross-border financial platforms together before. Now we’re applying that experience to rebuilding accounting for small businesses from the ground up.
